WWA: I’ve received many slides via Google docs. Great! Slides are due tomorrow for those who have not yet submitted theirs.

Tomorrow: Quiz on Canada. Know spelling and locations.

Math homework was given today, and we’ll give till Tuesday again. This math is to practice MENTAL MATH, so no calculators. We went over tricks in class. Borrow from one of the addends to make a multiple of 10, 100, or 1000. Then the adding is easy. So, 2330 + 5900 becomes 2230 + 6000 which is easy to add: 8230. Students may cross out numbers if they need to, or do it entirely “in their heads”.
Students should do sections 1 and 2 on the sheet. Some might find the subtraction difficult, so we called it “Bonus” work, but I think most could get this done, and they are encouraged to do so. 🙂
Some students also received Gauss sheets to work on.
